A essência da mesma, é questionada nos dias de hoje pelos que habitam a periferia dos centros das cidades, erguendo-se perante as fronteiras da diferenciação.
Os guardiões, defensores do limite urbano, são símbolos do processo do pós 25 de Abril, durante os últimos 50 anos. Esta luta incessante pelos direitos de ser livre é desdobrada numa celebração insuficiente em certas localidades, refletindo as matrizes sociais e culturais que moldam a nossa experiência quotidiana. A celebração desequilibrada realça a reivindicação por uma vida digna.
Os guardiões de postura vigilante, não apenas perpetuam os momentos que nos moldaram, mas também desafiam os que nos subestimam acerca do caminho que ainda precisamos percorrer.
