We are made of what surrounded us, and the choices we make in our lifes.

We learn ways of act in the world without choosing it, before we even realize what we're learning. Mistakes are part of that learning process.

When a child throws trash on the ground doesn't think about what they're doing, because they see it as playing, carelessness, something no one ever took seriously.

But that same carelessness shows up later in a different way, like an cigarette thrown to the ground, a bottle left in the street, the unmade bed, the message left unanswered… The gesture is different, but the logic is the same.

When we don't pay attention to the space we share with the others, the same tends to happen with the space we share with ourselves and with the relationships we build.

Belong to a place is not just to occupy it, but to recognize it as ours and take responsibility for it.

Making mistakes is part of it. Repeating the same mistakes as well. The goal isn't to find perfection but to realize that, even late, caring for what is ours begins with the small daily basis gestures as the propose of becoming someone better.
