GUARDIÃ DE ABRIL

Há meio século concebeu-se a maior conquista da nossa democracia, a liberdade.

A essência da mesma, é questionada nos dias de hoje pelos que habitam a periferia dos centros das cidades, erguendo-se perante as fronteiras da diferenciação. Os guardiões, defensores do limite urbano, são símbolos do processo do pós 25 de Abril, durante os últimos 50 anos. Esta luta incessante pelos direitos de ser livre é desdobrada numa celebração insuficiente em certas localidades, refletindo as matrizes sociais e culturais que moldam a nossa experiência quotidiana.

Half a century ago the greatest conquest of our democracy was conceived, freedom.

Its own essence is questioned today by the ones who live in the outskirts of the cities, rising before the borders of differentiation. The guardians, protectors of the urban limits, have been symbols of the post-25th of April process, for the last 50 years. This unstoppable fight for the right to be free is unfolded in an insufficient celebration in certain locations, reflecting the social and cultural matrix that mold our daily experience.
